Travel Style: A Day at the San Diego Zoo
Hello my gorgeous friends! I hope you are having a wonderful day.
Todays post is about looking cute while you travel. I've been traveling a lot lately and don't we all want to look good? I know I do. This post will be the first part of a series I will be doing called Travel Style. This will be me documenting how I dress for traveling an hour away from home to hopefully different countries and every thing in between.
We recently went to the zoo and I thought it would be a great opportunity to show you how to look cute and comfy while you walk all over looking at adorable and extraordinary animals.
I chose to wash my hair the day before and use dry shampoo the morning of to give my hair some texture and height. I use Klorane Dry Shampoo in the non-aerosol. I find that it doesn't make my hair feel gross, like many other dry shampoos do. Since I got height and texture in my hair now, I decided to curl it using my Nume Curling Wand in the 32 mm for big loose curls that looked cute/messy. I then just ran my fingers through my hair and sprayed a very light coating of hair spray and then I was ready to roll.
I chose an army green tank top that I got for $5 at Cotton On. This top is super cute and goes beautifully if you have blonde hair. I also wore my old shorts that I've had for years that are a jean/cotton mix and they are so comfortable, its crazy. These two options were great together but the next thing really brought it together...
My flannel! I tied it at the waist to really complete this look and give a pattern to the overall outfit. I got this flannel on Asos and it is my absolute favorite flannel. It is light so it doesn't weight you down and the pattern/colors go great with my army colored tank top. It also gives some motion when you move (kind of like a dress). I took it off when it got dark and actually wore it as a very light sweater to keep the cool summer night out.
My shoes were also amazing to wear to the zoo. I highly suggest giving those cute vans or converse a break and wearing some shoes that give you support. You're really going to need it when you are walking all day, up and down hills. I am wearing my Brooks Launch 3 running shoes and I think that the colors are not too out there but with just enough color to make it interesting. (Some running shoes are just the ugliest things ever and I don't know why. Like who wears those?)
For accessories I kept it simple and wore my Quay (pronounced key, but it bothers me so bad that its spelt that way) Australia Sunglasses, my Fitbit Charge HR, and a little cross purse. I love my Quay Australia Sunglasses in My Girl, they are the best sunglasses every and super cute. I literally wear these everywhere. I wore my Fitbit Charge to the Zoo to really track how many steps I took throughout the day (you gotta get those steps in). I can tell you I got well over my 10,000 steps that day. Last is my purse, I like to carry a small purse so its not in the way and, also so it doesn't weigh me down. You don't want your shoulders or back to hurt because your purse is to heavy. Thats just not fun, comfy, or cute and that is what this post is all about. Let me know if you like this new series and are excited for more!
